IBM Research in Austin, TX is seeking a candidate for a Supplemental Research Scientist position to perform world-class research in the areas of mobile applications, cloud computing, or distributed systems. This position entails performing novel research on cloud operating environments in support of mobile applications. Deep knowledge of modern cloud computing environments, distributed systems, and/or mobile applications is desired. Applicants who have implemented substantial projects in their area(s) of expertise are preferred. Creative thinking and the ability to work in a team are required. Successful researchers must disseminate the results of their research internally and externally through publications, patent disclosures, conference presentations, and similar mechanisms, so strong communication skills are important. Strong prior research and publishing record is required.
Required Bachelor's Degree At least 1 year experience in  Mobile application design/development (iOS or Android) English: Intermediate
Preferred Doctorate Degree in Information Technology At least 1 year experience in Cloud computing At least 1 year experience in Distributed systems At least 1 year experience in Runtime systems English : Fluent
