Job Summary & Responsibilities

Goldman Sachs’ Global Investment Research division delivers value-added research to clients in the equity, fixed income, currency and commodities markets. Goldman Sachs develops global client-focused research in economics, portfolio strategy, derivatives and equity and credit securities. Our clients use these insights and investment ideas to develop their strategies.

Global Investment Research produces original, fundamental research and analysis of industries, companies and economies. Our research teams continually identify and analyze financial information, strategic issues and trends that affect companies, industries and markets on a regional and global scale.

Working closely with the Senior Credit and Mortgage analysts and other members of the team, the goal of the Business Analyst is to:

• Assist development and management of large-scale databases
• Develop quantitative models for fundamentals and security valuation
• Generate unique, thematic research on issues facing the global credit and mortgage markets
• Write articles on market developments for external and internal publication
• Present market views to external and internal clients

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years relevant experience working with large data sets, statistical models, programming, and/or markets for corporate credit and mortgage instruments, gained either in the public or private sector
• Bachelors Degree Required
• Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong programming and quantitative skills
• SAS/SQL, and programming skills more generally
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work remotely and independently within a close-knit team
• Advanced degree in finance, economics, or statistics is a plus
• A proven capability for original and thought-provoking research
