Job Summary
Apple's
Platform Architecture group is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer
with strong capabilities in board and system design. The engineer will
play an integral role in an important product for Apple, requiring a
self-driven engineer with great initiative. The individual will be
responsible for development and integration of electronics at the board
and system level for internal product, investigations, and new
technology prototypes.
This role offers an incredible opportunity to work with and learn from

Key Qualifications
- 3 or more years of experience developing embedded systems with:
- Microcontrollers, microprocessors (ARM), computers
- Processor peripheral interfaces (USB, I2C, SPI, storage, high speed serial I/F’s)
- Power supply design
- Some analog electrical design
- Proven track record of developing electronics from requirements negotiation to architecture definition to implementation to production and support
- Basic working knowledge of Signal Integrity and Power Integrity
- Experience with board bring up and debug of digital hardware
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience in taking designs through manufacturing and product cycle
- Thorough, disciplined methodology with good documentation habits
- Experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
- Must be a team player with excellent conversational and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Description
-Design
digital and some analog electrical circuits and systems
-Create prototype hardware to evaluate new technologies
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical,
mechanical, firmware, application software, procurement, and other teams
-Schematic capture
-Oversee and review PCB layout
-Thoroughly document and support designs
-Bring-up, debug, and validation of designs
Education
•BS/MS EE or CE
Additional Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
-FPGA HDL languages (VHDL, Verilog)
-Understanding of low level software (firmware and/or drivers in C or C++)
-Scripting skills a plus
-Proficiency with soldering small components under microscope a plus
-Experience with regulatory certification a plus (e.g., EMI, safety)
-Experience with any sensors a plus
-Any mechanical/assembly experience a plus
