Desirable to have experience in advisory and arranging deals in the Canadian, US and Latam market.
My client is looking for someone who can hit the ground running and has experience within the metals & mining or Natural Resources space. Unique and fantastic opportunity on offer for Director to join the Metals & Mining team of a leading Investment bank in New York.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain client relationships, develop new relationships with prospects and source new mandates to lead financings
  • Develop marketing pitches and prepare indicative proposals
  • Assess and structure new deals, manage due diligence process, engage external consultants and negotiate deal terms and conditions, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with other deal participants and negotiate required documentation in conjunction with in-house and/or external counsel.
  • You will be in charge of origination deals – winning new business, further developing existing relationships and executing the deals
  • Within the execution you will be in charge of structuring, due diligence and also overseeing the processing of internal credit applicatio
  • You will be involved in financial advisory mandates for project sponsors pre and post bidding, modelling, financial structuring.
  • You will have to lead complex financial modeling and other documentation.
  • Oversee complex advisories within the project finance space to suit clients needs
  • Develop effective relationships with other business units / product specialists to incorporate their expertise and product delivery into account development activities.
  • Foster strong business relationships with mine finance peers, other bank’s corporate finance and syndication groups and applicable industry associations.
  • Participate in various industry seminars and conferences to foster networking and deal generation.
  • Maintain a call schedule for client meetings and conferences.
  • Prepare trip reports with follow-up action.
  • Remain current with a broad range of the banks corporate finance and treasury products
  • Prepare credit proposals for new transactions, annual reviews, extensions, punctual approvals, amendments, waivers, etc. as appropriate.
  • Travel will be required to pitch for projects and you will be expected to actively be involved in all steps of the project finance process from start to end
  • Evaluate proposals against established business line and risk criteria and recommend course of action
  • Advise team members and senior management of deal progress, portfolio developments and new opportunities in the mining sector.
  • Review work of, and support development of, junior staff
Desired Skills & Experience:
Candidate must be either a SVP or Director within the debt financing space and have a good number of years in the market and preferably with an international bank

Will have a senior position and be involved in a lot of important managerial positions so extensive managerial experience is important

Experience within Metals & Mining and a strong deal list as well as a solid structured debt background is a must

Client can only consider people with a strong Mining and Metals or Natural Resources background and there is no flexibility on this.
