Job description

The Software Development Integration (SDI) development organization is seeking a System administrator with a knowledge on unix environment, tools and virtualization. The job duties include team leadership, problem determination, customer support, resolution skills and bringing new resolution in support of IBM software development organizations including daily administration of tools SDI support. We operate in a multiple site environment and work closely with other organizations within IBM to provide a production level infrastructure. We also deploy tools to new teams who are involved in the software development, testing, quality analysis or software build process. There is an opportunity to lead cross organizational project activities in this area. Experience in customer facing roles (like technical support personnel) is preferable. Desirable Skills: - Performs installation, configuration, support of production databases as per requirement. Ensuring proper storage for the database. Monitor and act on critical production issues. Provide database support in a large scale 24x7 operations/production environment. - Experience in system and database administration with an understanding of logical database design and actual physical database implementation. - Knowledge of Tivoli Storage Manager and security to provide expertise in building SDI environment secure. - Working knowledge in AIX, Linux, UNIX or other supported operating systems is also helpful. - Knowledge of Eclipse and its plug-ins is desirable. - Teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.

Required High School Diploma/GED English: Fluent
