The Senior Financial Business Systems Analyst reports to the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain high standards within the company financial accounting structure and provide direction and coaching as needed.
- Responsible for the timely resolution of outstanding accounting issues.
- Support and have a comprehensive understanding of all the Oracle accounting processes for all our current Oracle R12 modules (Accounts Receivable US and Canada, Accounts Payable US and Canada, General Ledger US and Canada, iExpense, Fixed Assets, EAM, Inventory, Supply Chain and Projects).
- Work with the IT team for resolution on Accounting Team Tracks.
- Support and Maintain (EARS) Enterprise Balance Sheet Reconciliation System
- General Ledger/Chart of Accounts maintenance and set up.
- Help troubleshot accounting configuration issues in all our current Oracle R12 modules (Accounts Receivable US and Canada, Accounts Payable US and Canada, iExpense, Fixed Assets, EAM, Inventory, Supply Chain, iSupplier, Projects and General Ledger US and Canada).
- Help facilitate closing the periods of all sub ledgers.
- Help develop new Disco, OBI, FSG or Oracle Reports, and handle issues regarding reports.
- Help develop training and documentation as needed. Help provide a comprehensive high quality customer-focus training for any accounting area.
- Specific functional/technical areas that will be supported by this position:
- Sub ledger Accounting Issue Resolution and Maintenance
- Maintenance of the FERC solution in Oracle – Adding Company, Major and FERC to a value set.
- Maintenance and support of the Cross Validation Rules.
- Support and handle issues with the new accounting processes including:
- Payables to WIP interface
- Accruing unaccounted accounts payable invoices
- Projects cost collector Accounting extension
- SLA account analysis
- Un-invoiced receipt transactions
- Inventory valuation
- Re-buildable serialized items reconciliation and process.
- Credit card reconciliation
- Other general areas:
- Support Financial Accounting, Consolidations and Financial Reporting as needed.
- Help resolve issues regarding revenue interfaces to AR, AP and GL.
- While working on any special project, make sure we comply with our SOX accounting controls.
- Assist with data conversion for acquisitions.
- Monitor and maintain the financial systems to support all management information, financial requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Handle requests for internal and external audits and special projects.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Information Systems is required.
- Experience in Financial Accounting Systems is required.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of recent years of relevant work experience with financial software applications/information systems management required from a business analysis, business process redesign, or project management capacity in fast paced environment.
- Energy industry experience is preferred.
- Oracle R12 experience is required
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization and external parties.
- Possess strong analytical skills.
- A self-starter who has the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to take direction well and upholds the standards and procedures of the department.
- Must be flexible and responsive to team needs.
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fluid environment.
- Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills.
