Description
Job holder leads a team of associates responsible for maintaining, monitoring and manipulating daily batch schedules per clients requests such as but not limited to, setting up adhoc reruns, special schedule submissions and JCL overrides for overnight batch requirements across multiple production LPARs. Job holder must have work experience managing in a Production Delivery Services capacity. S/he must demonstrate the ability to provide technical and administrative leadership.
Job holder must have a comprehensive understanding of TSO/ISPF, MVS JCL and utilities. This position requires managing a team of associates responsible for critical path monitoring and reporting delays in a timely fashion, taking ownership until the delay is resolved. Ability to analyze complex requests and schedules and to provide guidance to the team is a must.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience required and must have extensive experience with the full spectrum of system and console operations and expertise in master and peripheral console operation.
- Must be knowledgeable in advanced diagnosing and correcting schedule problems.
- Thorough knowledge of company's IT infrastructure and daily operations, interdependencies and understand the impact of planned changes to the environment.
- Must have in-depth experience with reviewing proposed changes, assessing potential consequences and effectively managing wide-impact changes to the production environment.
- Prior experience with developing and documenting change management standards and procedures required.
- Able to engage advanced or vendor-specific diagnostic techniques for complex problems in multi-vendor environments.
- Ensure issues that are escalated to upper management.
- Knowledge of the following tools and processes is required: CA7, CA11, Cybermation CA-ESP, JCL, Endevor, JES/SDSF, SAR, Windows XP, NDM, FTP, TCP/IP, Remedy, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Outlook and ITIL Best Practices.
Job holder must have strong communication skills, written and oral, sound judgment and time management skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients (users). Ensure all business/end users are running according to service level agreement. Bachelor degree in Computer Science or 4 years of equivalent work experience in a technical environment.
