As a key member of the senior leadership staff, the Probes Global Engineering Manager will execute the global business direction and strategy for probes new product development, facilitate continuous improvement of existing products and processes, drive a robust VCP strategy, and lead the install base engineering efforts. Demonstrating excellent leadership skills, you will collaborate with product engineering teams, global research, supply chain, quality and segment engineering leaders.
•Drive a high performance culture, providing leadership, coaching and engineering expertise to a diverse team of global engineering managers and engineers. Address staffing, team/talent development, skill set improvement and performance management needs.
•Ensure engineering designs meet business objectives, design for reliability and design for manufacturability.
•Work with cross functional teams with system groups for product specification and integration activities.
•Drive budget control, resource management, organizational design, technical excellence and teamwork.
•Change agent; Lead change through creative solutions to unstructured product and design issues.
•Optimize team’s participation and execution of design control methodology in all phases of product development.
•Support existing products within Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering.
•Utilize design control methodology for product design projects.
•Ensure product quality and safety by fostering a culture of integrity and compliance with total appreciation for GE’s Quality Management System (QMS).
•Maintain a strong crosslink between probe engineering in multiple sites, sharing knowledge and solving problems throughout a global organization.
•Support and grow emerging market development and expansion.
•Collaboration with Global Probes Chief Technologist and Ultrasound Chief Engineer.
Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.
4. Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables.
5. Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives.
1. Bachelor of Science degree in relevant engineering or science discipline including mechanical, electrical, chemical, materials, biomedical, and physics.
2. Five years experience in Ultrasound product or medical device design engineering.
3. Five years of people leadership experience in new product development, systems engineering and advanced technology development.
4. Project management experience; using design control methodology (toll gate process, PRD, etc)
5. Demonstrated leadership through the management of global technical teams with broad skill and activity spectrum
6. Prior experience within a highly regulated medical device environment
7. Capacity of listening and synthesizing needs understanding in a multi-cultural environment.
8. Demonstrated analytical skills and business acumen, ability to manage budgets and drive financial targets
9. Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes
10. Strong interpersonal skills, tenacity and patience to perform in a fast paced environment
11. Self-motivated/self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and operate in a remote environment.
12. Willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and education background

1. Masters degree or PhD in electrical, mechanical or manufacturing engineering discipline.
2. Knowledge of acoustics imaging, transducers and arrays, beam forming front end experience with design of medical ultrasound imaging transducers.
3. Knowledge on medical ultrasound applications and prior ultrasound system design experience.
4. Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change across the business, products and industry. Experience driving technology and business planning processes with a focus on differentiation and financial return.
5. Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills.
6. Understands the customer and market and is able to translate opportunities into concrete actions.
7. Proven competency in key business tools such as Change Acceleration (CAP), LEAN, etc.
8. Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others.
9. Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy in for initiatives.
