The Global Asset Management team is seeking RFID and Real-Time Location System (RTLS) Architect to serve as recognized subject matter experts, thought leaders, and technology leaders with deep expertise in the implementation of enterprise systems, ideally with experience in the healthcare domain.
The Architect is a hands-on role within our team – you must be able to understand what is needed for the business, craft a technical architecture that meets or exceeds those needs, and work directly with the engineering team to bring the architecture to life in code.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in technology and business solutions, designing solution architectures, creating multi-phased, complex migration strategies that address technology innovation, understand complex IT and business problems, and applying technology and solution portfolio knowledge to drive innovation and new business opportunities.

The role requires deep technical aptitude and excellent cross-functional collaboration, as well as a consultative and collaborative approach to establishing and driving creative projects, architecting them and helping team in delivering it.
• Team closely with the application, integration and system architecture team to create the next generation platform supporting the Global Asset Management product road map.
• Evaluate, assess and define approach for inclusion of enterprise technologies into product solutions
• Define RFID and RTLS based services integration with technology application platform
• Identify RFID and RTLS based services solutions for enterprise visibility and mobility related functional requirements, designs business area solutions, develops conceptual business models, translates functional and business requirements into technical requirements
• Utilizes knowledge base to create conceptual business models and displays subject matter expertise by identifying relevant issues, constraints, and considerations involving RFID and RTLS, enterprise visibility and mobility solutions
• Serve as technical contact for vendors and internal development teams
• Create and lead architecture governance policy, process and procedures
• Lead the design of system interaction models and define frameworks and interfaces
• Drive the design of user interaction models, workflows and user interfaces, if applicable
• Lead the creation of prototypes to prove technologies and systems interactions
• Lead project teams and work with user experience researchers to design and architect presentations strategy and frameworks, if applicable
• Successfully communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale
• BS / MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience with a proven ability to lead the architecture, systems engineering, and development of high performance software systems, including requirements, system decomposition and partitioning, re-use and platform strategies, interfaces, and high-level design.
• In-depth knowledge of one or more of the following: C, C++, .NET, Java, Perl, Python.
• Knowledge of RFID protocols, reader architecture and design (software and hardware), middleware, or other software systems that interface RFID reader devices
• Understanding and working knowledge of geospatial data and geographic information systems available in the market place
• Proven experience building and deploying Real-time location systems
• Extensive experience with deployment of Windows and Linux servers in a virtualized / cloud environment
• History of delivering secure solutions requiring industry or governmental compliance in such industries as Healthcare or Financial
• Experience developing with java technologies messaging technologies: ActiveMQ, JMS, IBM MQ Series, Tibco
• In-depth understanding of server programming patterns for multi-threading, connection pooling, caching and inter-process communications.
