The Prototype Production Engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. This individual will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition you will:
  • Identify key process & production step requirements (technical / products problems, execution issues) and bring effective solutions
  • Be responsible for ceramic matrix and polymer composites, lab projects and production implementation of consolidation tools, process improvements and overall production workflow.
  • Implement process measurement tools, and collect data to evaluate yield, WIP, cycle time, etc, of process steps for prototype shop delivery.
  • Generate work instructions, operations sheets, and visual tools, training technicians and managing standard combination work sheets for low rate prototype lab hardware.
  • Attend project meetings within a matrix organization, (kick off, coordination review, and close out)
  • Reference person on multiple jobs for a particular customer / product
  • Lead internal design activities and technical decisions
  • Organize and lead daily shop stand up meetings with technicians and operators
  • Ensure the proper understanding of technical customer needs inside the GE organization
  • Provide MRL support and engagement with design , MPED, lean labs and supply chain, for advanced components
  • Define guidelines to maintain / upgrade standard model of Bill of Material
  • Support introduction of new guidelines on standard Quality Control Plan requirements
  • Coordinate and facilitate and support review on job drawing and customers comments
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Materials, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of IT, engineering, scientific or technical experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a project-based engineering positionELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required

  • Experience in composites (CMC or PMC) processes or production
