OptionsHouse is currently seeking an operations engineer with experience supporting front-end applications. This role will be responsible for keeping our consumer-focused desktop and mobile sites online and functional, quickly identifying and addressing problems to ensure the best customer experience possible. This role will monitor site performance and client-side errors, applying real time fixes as well as proactively helping to improve the sites reliability and performance moving forward. Implementation of new or updating of current software and other operational functions necessary to support the site and maintain high uptime percentages will be a substantial part of this role.

Key Skills and Responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve site issues
- Assist with system administration
- Create automation to assist with site monitoring and deployment
- Must have strong problem solving skills and be passionate about learning new technologies and effectively & appropriately leveraging them
- Contribute ideas to solutions across technical operations
- Must be flexible to participate in on-call support
- Stay current of changes to all browsers and understand and proactively address potential issues browser updates might cause to site and user's experience
Requirements
- 3+ years professional experience with:
- Scripting languages, such as Python, Ruby, Perl
- Apache server configuration/management, including Apache Rewrites
- Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, AJAX, Java, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails
- Experience with nginx or HAProxy
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, New Relic, Splunk
- Firm understanding and experience with TCP/IP networking concepts and principles
- Systems administration experience on Linux Systems (Ubuntu, Centos)
- Experience managing infrastructures underneath highly available public facing, front end web servers/web sites, including building, maintaining and troubleshooting.
- Experience in trading, financial services, or e-commerce preferred
