OptionsHouse is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst that will lead and support measurement, analysis and reporting of key business trends. The Analyst will report to the Business Intelligence Manager and work closely with business stakeholders to proactively determine areas of focus, presenting findings, automate BI solutions and drive actionable insights.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
- Collaboration with technical and business leads to develop and maintain on-going and / or ad-hoc reports to track key performance metrics and ensure adoption and usage
- Gathers business requirements by conducting meetings/interviews, and facilitating large group/cross-functional sessions with the business, while containing the scope of the initiative
- Drive business decisions informing the organization around trends, insights and recommendations
- Identify areas of improvement, drive implementation and automation to standardize and streamline procedures for business and business intelligence initiatives
- Displays an unbiased analytical mindset and allows the data to the talking to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
- Frames solutions to the business that bring new insightful opportunities to the forefront, using various analytical modeling and visualization techniques
- Manage small projects beginning to end, including gathering requirements, project planning and delivery, and evaluation of post-launch success metrics
- Consult with teams to prioritize initiatives and gain stakeholder alignment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate views crisply and convincingly
- Subject matter expert of the internal data warehouse and full understanding of data processes and procedures: Information Sourcing (ETL), Information Management (RDBMS) and Information Delivery (Reporting / Analysis / Readouts)
Job Qualifications:
- Self-starter with an analytical approach to problem solving and a detail-oriented creative thinker with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong relationship building skills and the ability to partner across teams
- Advanced SQL knowledge with an emphasis of data mining large datasets in Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, PgAdmin, etc
- 2+ years within an analyst role
- Strong quantitative skills and the ability to correlate data to produce actionable insights
- Excellent QA/UAT skills
- Prior working experience with statistical packages and data mining tools (SPSS,SAS,R)
- Advanced in MS Excel
- Familiarity in business intelligence software (IBM Cognos, MicroStrategy, etc) and visualization tools (Tableau, QlikView, etc)
