The Commercial Business Risk Office is the first line of defense managing Operational Risk for the Commercial Bank line of business. We are looking for an experienced associate to join our Process and Metrics team. The candidate is part of a team responsible for providing business requirements for the new technology build of the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) platform. In addition, our team is also responsible for Process Excellence, so the candidate would be cross functional in that they will also be engaged in managing process artifacts, control plans and metrics.

The candidate we are looking for should be a self starter with superior problem solving skills, strong business judgment and excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical skills are necessary to collect data and generate metrics. In addition, communication skills are key as the candidate will liaise and build relationships across the Commercial Business Risk Office, the Operational Risk Management division and the Technology team.

They will also possess foundational knowledge of banking and possess a solid background in operational risk management. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of Governance, Risk and Compliance systems. Finally, they must be able to synthesize information, create process maps, articulate requirements and create and manage metrics.

This role is part of the Business Risk Office team within Commercial Bank (CBRO). The team leads operational risk management for the Commercial Bank. Departmental functions include: policies and procedures, training and awareness, operational risk framework, process identification and standards, control monitoring and testing, metrics, issue and event management, risk and control metrics, risk identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting. The CBRO interacts with internal and external partners for Audit and credit reviews, regulatory exams, compliance, business continuity, third party management, information security, access management, model governance, SOX and data governance.

Responsibilities include:





- Gather GRC business requirements from Business Partners and successfully document processes, functionality, and reporting needs

- Document, track, obtain signoff on requirements, and liaise with Operational Risk Management division and Technology team

- Conduct testing, including sprint testing and user acceptance testing

- Collect and Interpret data in support of operational risk management processes from various data sources

- Correlate data from various business processes to leverage across the solution and multiple business units

- Develop ad-hoc and standard reports using applicable tools

- Reporting on risk data and information and using analytics and reporting to provide transparency to management

- Recommend approaches and implement solutions to improve operational processes

- Tracking and resolving process breakdowns

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or military experience


Preferred Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years experience in financial services

-Prior experience implementing and supporting Governance, Risk, and Compliance solutions (Open Pages, Archer, MetricStream, etc...)
- Experience in Compliance and/or Risk management, including experience with banking laws / regulations and processes
- Experience with process breakdown, root cause analysis and risk mitigation
- - Experience with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Issue Management and Compliance Control reporting system

-Project Management experience, Lean or Six Sigma Certification
- Consistent, demonstrated ability for applying critical thinking and sound judgment
