Job Summary
The
Product Quality Manager is responsible for a Mac Desktop product's
quality throughout the product life cycle. This position reports
directly to the WW Quality Manager.
Key Qualifications
- Design of Experiments, statistical process control methods and theory
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin language skills are a plus but not required.
- Finance/business background (understand cost drivers and ability to derive costs associated with managing quality)
- Technical systems knowledge related to computers.
- Broad software knowledge (both test/programming/scripting related and business standard programs)
- Project management experience
- Reliability methods and quality sampling methodologies
- Third party production quality & process management experience
- Experience working with customers
Description
-Generate Product Quality Plan (PQP)
-Monitor Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) and Customer Audit (CA) processes at OEM sites.
-Manage quality escalation issues as directed by the Product Quality Manager
-Drive on-going product improvements with OEM partners
-Support AppleCare Service & Engineering on specific requests
-Conduct periodic reviews of Field/Factory Quality Data with OEM partners.
-Leads Weekly Quality Improvement Forums
-Interface with Procurement and Engineering to provide Commodity Quality requirements via PQP for all new products
-Manage First Article Inspection (FAI) Process
-Generate monthly Product Health summary
-Prepare OK to Ship documentation for new product launch
-Support/Attend new product development builds as required
-International Travel is required
Education
BSEE (MS preferred) or equivalent with 7+ years experience in either Manufacturing or the development of consumer electronics.
