As a member of Technical Staff in Engineering Product Support, you will be a member of a team providing engineering support for released products through to product end of life. Specific areas of focus will be in diagnosing, reproducing, and identifying solutions to customer reported problems of all sorts.

This could be the right job for you, if: you like solving puzzles, love working "under the covers" of complex systems to understand what makes them work, and enjoy digging into operating system level code.

On the job, you will work with network protocols, file system, RAID and storage technologies.

You will demonstrate your technical problem solving and debugging skills.

You will make recommendations to product developers on how to improve NetApp products.

You will also develop defect fixes for future releases of NetApp's Data ONTAP operating system.

You will be trained to troubleshoot Data ONTAP software running on NetApp hardware to assist customers with problem isolation and resolution.
Work collaboratively, under pressure, within a team environment of other engineers to meet customer expectations.

Familiarity with basic concepts of computer architecture, operating systems, data structures and standard programming practices.

Ability to design, read, debug, fix and test operating system kernel code.

Creative and analytical approach to problem solving.

Proven aptitude for learning new technologies.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
A Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience is required.

Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed multiple, moderately complex technical assignments.

Kernel-level experience in school or work projects developing and debugging operating system code.

Programming experience in school or work projects in C or C++.
