Global Commodity Manager:
Apple is seeking world-class procurement talent to lead a cross
functional team, in support of Apple’s Macintosh and iPad product lines.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in Supplier and Commodity Management in a high volume industry, such as Personal Computers or Consumer Electronics. Core skills must include contract negotiation, price negotiation, and supply chain design.
- Minimum 5-7 years in dealing in an outsourced manufacturing or service model with overseas suppliers.
- Significant Reverse logistics / Service Operations experience preferred.
Description
In this position, you will manage your supply base and design and
implement solutions that achieve business critical metrics in the
following areas:
COST MANAGEMENT: Manage costs for warranty, seed stock, repairs and
out-of-production replacement parts across all regions and repair
channels.
CONTINUITY OF SUPPLY: Design your repair and/or replacement supply chain
to ensure continuity of supply for system level (“Level 1”) repairs at
the lowest possible supply chain cost and at the highest Service level
for apple customers. Lead recovery plans and execution when global
supply falls short of demand. Drive continuous improvements and
efficiencies within the repair and/or replacement supply chains. Ensure
full support throughout the service phase of the product lifecycle.
WARRANTY REDEMPTION: Ensure that Apple’s internal systems and processes
are capable of redeeming the full value of warranty terms with our
suppliers. Drive system and process enhancements to increase our scope
and eliminate all costs associated with in-warranty support.
SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT: Manage suppliers’ performance in Service Operations
through the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and Supplier Performance
Index (SPI) processes. Partner with the commodity leaders in Operations
(GSM) to negotiate contractual terms in support of Service Operations’
business requirements in the areas of cost, continuity of supply,
quality, and warranty. Drive suppliers to enhance their infrastructure
in support of our developing business needs.
REVERSE LOGISTICS OPERATIONS: Set the metric targets and oversee the
supplier’s management of the supplier’s repair operations. Evaluate
supplier’s capacity availability and manage to required demand levels.
Monitor suppliers planning and procurement activities in support of
their repair operation to ensure continuity of supply, and compliance
with Apple cost, quality and service level requirements
In addition, you will manage relationships with Planning, Purchasing,
and Quality disciplines within AppleCare.
