Job Summary

Responsible for working with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to understand, augment, and oversee highly technical and complex projects related to setup of server rooms and deployment of hardware consisting of network devices, servers, SAN and database systems that are used for the global manufacturing business. The purpose of the role is to ensure that Apple’s infrastructure projects are managed with the highest level of pro-active management and IT leadership skills to resolve project issues and ensure that project objectives and requirements are met to maximize uptime for Apple’s mission critical manufacturing systems. This role requires enterprise datacenter experience, having managed projects in one or more of the following areas: moves, migrations, consolidations, refreshes and virtualization.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience (nice to have but not required)
  • ITIL Foundation certified
  • At least one industry recognized Infrastructure related IT certification (MCSE, CCNA, CCIE, etc.). PMP is nice to have but not required.
  • Ability to effectively manage implementations high (4-5 IT areas) to extremely complex (5+ IT Areas) network, server, mainframe, open systems, and storage projects
  • Ability to effectively lead the design and build for medium to large size/scope infrastructure multi-phase projects.
  • Ability to effectively lead the design and build for multiple infrastructure projects.
  • PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • •Expert user of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio
  • •Expert internal and external facing presentation and meeting facilitation skills
  • •Expert written and verbal communication skills
  • •Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese (verbal and written)

Description

•Responsible for the management and successful implementation and rollout of moderate to extremely complex infrastructure projects •Serve as the primary liaison between the business line, operations, and the technical areas throughout the entire project lifecycle •Ensure that the project complies with proper Project Life Cycle methodology including all required and conditional documentation •Ensure that all required enterprise process deliverables are completed •Partner with Technical Lead and the business line to create work breakdown structures for the project •Work with the Test Lead to ensure that the testing process is comprehensive (test plans, test summaries creation). •Maintain proper tasks along with effort and timelines assigned to individual project team members Monitor project issues and risks and proactively escalate when appropriate •Create meeting agendas and publish meeting minutes •Facilitate project team meetings •Prepare and present status reports and other project summary information for business leaders and end users •Ensure that the change management processes and procedures are followed •Assist and guide less experienced project management team members. •Other duties as required Supervisory Responsibilities: •Supervise day-to-day activities of less senior engagement managers. •May be required to supervise local or virtual project contractors and lead cross-functional Infrastructure design efforts.

Education

Undergraduate degree or equivalent.

Additional Requirements

•Experience working with and leading project resources not under direct control (both external and internal, including offshore resources) •Experienced professional in developing and leading execution of Project Plans in a fast-paced, technical environment. •Must be able to take high-level directives and lead the effort of developing start-to-finish project plans based on internal project management framework & lifecycle processes •Experience gathering technical requirements and change management •Experience working on and leading cross-functional projects •Experience in leading the delivery of products from design & development teams to internal or external production teams. •Strong communication skills, verbal and written •Strong project management experience and skill set inclusive of the following areas scope management, schedule development and management, risk management, issue management, change management, communication management, cost management and quality management. •Experience managing multiple cross-functional projects concurrently.
