Job Summary
The
iCloud Mail team is seeking an experienced Storage Engineer to join our
fun and growing team in Cupertino, CA. The successful candidate should
be looking for a challenge in a cutting edge, fast paced, dynamic
environment. Your role will include onsite support of the different
models of storage, handling escalation tickets, working directly with
project teams on deployment strategies as well as coordination with
local vendors for installation and repair. This is a mid to senior level
position and we are looking for individuals that have experience with
large multi-vendor environments. You must be flexible by nature to deal
with a fluid environment and take pride in your work.

Key Qualifications
- - Minimum 2 years recent experience in Storage administration in a large environment
- - 2-5 years RHEL 5, Solaris, OS X System Administration experience
- - Extensive background in SAN/NAS storage with NetApp or other comparable vendor
- - Working knowledge of TCP/IP, SMTP, IMAP, DNS and other common internet protocols
- - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Description
-
Provide second-tier on call support for all local services. Identify,
troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively, sometimes under
pressure
- Participate in the 24x7 pager rotation
- Install and setup systems as required to support growth and new
projects
- Work well in a team environment and be able to provide accurate
technical feedback to developers to identify and resolve complex issues
- Provide recommendations and implement solutions for scalability and
performance improvement
- Monitor performance, understand performance metrics thresholds,
validate reasons for a substantial variance in throughput and response
times
- Evaluate and test new products and technologies
