Job Summary

Apple’s Customer Database Marketing team are the customer data stewards across Apple. We manage data quality, drive business rules to define customer identity, and organize the customer and transactional data to deliver insights and relevance to our Apple partners. We provide a holistic view of Apple customers, their purchases and engagement to inform Product Marketing, customer experience and deliver effective communications. The Customer Database Solutions Architect is responsible for gathering, assessing and documenting Apple-wide requirements to support a consistent view of customers, the products they own, their support history, and their engagement with Apple. You will own the roadmap for defining and delivering this data to Apple customer-facing teams. You will work with cross-functional teams, including business and IS&T teams, to define the approach, priorities and funding requirements to deliver a shared customer-product-services infrastructure that be leveraged by various Apple organizations, including Retail, Apple Online Store, AppleCare and their related IS&T teams. The goal is to utilize customer data to deliver a world-class customer experience.

Key Qualifications

  • Stellar project management experience in a large, cross-functional environment
  • Experience with data-driven customer activities, such as customer support, retail or customer database
  • Familiarity with big data analytics, database marketing concepts and Teradata is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage a project schedule in a dynamic environment where business needs appear to be in conflict and priorities must be established and agreed to by cross-functional teams 
  • Clear and concise communication skills. Ability to forge trusting relationships and to work globally as a member of an integrated team.
  • Curious and passionate problem solver with strong focus on the customer impact and experience
  • Able to develop and present requirements based on cross-functional input and analysis to business stakeholders
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Able to work effectively within a fast changing environment, tight deadlines, priority changes and multiple constituencies

Description

Primary contact between business stakeholders and IS&T teams Identify, collect, prioritize and document complex business requirements to deliver a composite view of our customers via a shared services infrastructure Gather and analyze data to provide insights, support business requirements and define project metrics Identify gaps and/or anomalies in project data to recommend solutions that deliver high quality data Manage development roadmap for phased releases that include additional data and delivery applications Collaborate with IS&T to deliver design, architecture and level of effort assessments Prepare presentations to communicate requirements and project status and to secure business and IS&T approvals Manage project activities by coordinating directly with cross-functional business and IS&T groups to identify and deliver innovative solutions for conflicting business needs. Prepare funding documents as part of Apple’s fiscal year capital planning process

Education

An undergraduate degree, plus 7-10 years work experience in a customer database, project management or marketing analytics environment
