The Lead Engineer, M&I Performance Engineering will be responsible for the performance support of assigned aero-derivative product lines. This individual will provide direction for other team members involved in these tasks, and will help development and application of engine aero-thermodynamic simulation in conducting analyses and studies.
In the Marine & Industrial Performance community within the GE Aviation Engineering Technologies department, we model, predict, analyze and advise on engine performance for all GE Aviation Aero-derivative products and are responsible for steady-state thermodynamic performance, transient behavior, operability, and the technology needed for excellence in these disciplines. As a Lead Engineer within this Performance community, in addition you will:
  • Develop, maintain, and apply state-of-the-art thermodynamic engine simulations for GE Aero-derivative engines, and validate simulations with engine test data
  • Lead and execute design studies, support customer requests, study engine operating limits, predict test outcomes, diagnose unexplained behavior of development and field engines
  • Improve the state of the art with respect to gas turbine thermodynamic modeling techniques
  • Work cross functionally with engine transient analysis, Operability, Systems, Projects, Aero, Heat Transfer, and hardware design engineers to accurately model and validate models
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
