Top-level architect responsible for
establishing technology strategy of GE’s global network infrastructure.
Serves as most senior architectural expert providing technical
leadership, expertise, and mentoring in the networking discipline. Leads
components of a large scale effort to overhaul one of the most
expansive commercial networks in the world. Individual will influence a
multi-gen program, designing flexible yet secure ways of enabling a
business environment spanning multiple industries.
Partner
with a global team to design large scale enterprise networking
solutions meeting the critical needs of business operations in more than
160 countries with more than 300,000 employees
Collaborate with peer Network Principal Technologists (PTs)
and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and deliver cutting edge
networking technology to the environment
Engage network deployment and operations organizations to successfully implement solutions and transition to operations
Mentor others to develop their technical expertise
Effectively communicate to all levels of the organization including SMEs, Principal Technologist, CTO, CIOs, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information
Technology, Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college
or university
Minimum 10 years of experience supporting large enterprise network infrastructure at a Fortune 500 company
Minimum 7 years of experience in a primary design or architecture role in network infrastructureEligibility Requirements:
Position location is flexible globally. Must be willing to work out of a GE ISS Location

Cisco Certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, CCDE, etc.
Minimum 12 years of experience supporting large enterprise
network infrastructure at a Fortune 500 company, preferably in a design
or architecture role
Leverages communication and collaboration to solve problems with global team members across various functions
Proven analytical problem solving skills, able to address ambiguous business problems with concrete technology strategies
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated expertise and initiative by speaking at a conference such as Cisco Live, NANOG, SANOG, INFOCOM, etc.
Strong track record of understanding and interest in
current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job
experience and / or industry activities.
Strong team player – collaborates well with others to
solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources; has
experience working with others on a global basis; applies knowledge to
coach and mentor others
Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through
the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships; creates
processes with customer viewpoint; partners with customers to help shape
their future initiatives
Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills -
communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates
information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops
