Business Technical Analyst for the IT Restaurants Global POS Team.  The team is responsible for development of our Global POS platform.  While the development is not performed in-house, we are responsible for the SDLC as it pertains to the development of our products and work closely with our development partners as well as internal McDonald's teams.  Special emphasis on requirements definition and design review as well as facilitation of both requirements and design approvals.  We are also the Subject Matter Experts for the Global POS product, its configuration, and its functionality.

The candidate will participate in the creation, management, evaluation and interpretation of business and technical requirements.  Key responsibilities will include the evaluation of design specifications and translation of business needs to technical solutions throughout the product lifecycle. 
The candidate will assist in the coordination of Release Management (requirements gathering, feature tracking, change management) activities across business, IT, and supplier teams. 
Organization skills and communication expertise complimented by a technology background is preferred.  Documentation skills including non-functional, functional, business rule, and business processes are required as well as solid verbal communications.
Over time, the individual will become a SME for the functionality of our Global POS system.  This includes understanding the full capabilities of our complex system and knowledge of how restaurants across the world are using the system.  The ideal candidate will be able to understand various configuration options of the system and use the technology to enable solutions to business challenges.

Primary responsibilities include:
Creation/Evaluation/Interpretation of Business/Technical Requirements

  • Requirements Gathering
  • Risk Management
  • Report on detailed information regarding the state of the features for Global POS system.
  • Creation and maintenance of documentation pertaining to product features, work processes, etc. Such activities may include:

    • Adheres to established standards and maintains currency in business analysis practices, procedures and techniques.
    • Follows up with internal clients about completed tasks to ensure client satisfaction.
    • Identifies requirements for testing, develops test plans and scripts and coordinates test transmissions, as required.  Also tests software as needed.
    • This resource must be able to assess and document business requirements and may plan and assist with the execution of testing to ensure implemented technology meets business requirements.
Management of Product Features

  • Maintain master list of feature list for various software releases.
  • Provide business analysis support for complex software applications, including analyzing and documenting business processes and translating user requirements to software development teams.
  • Change Management around messaging for new/changing features of the products
  • Participation in Governance meetings pertaining to product suite
Support for Global POS products

  • Issue Tracking
  • Create customized reports based on data provided by various teams via emails, phone calls, meetings and updates within Change Management system.
  • Assist global markets with deployment/migration activities as required
  • May facilitate weekly meetings for the discussion and coordination of activities with internal business & IT partners and suppliers.
  • The role will require cross team leadership and change management skills for many initiatives as the organization evolves.
